In an effort to increase the awareness of these extensive scientific and health care-related resources, the New York Bioscience Initiative has produced this inventory, which details the richness and diversity of the region’s science and health care assets. In addition, the AMDeC BioResource Network provides a guide that is focused specifically on biomedical research in New York.

Each category below contains a summary of the region’s unique offerings, followed by hyperlinks to local organizations and institutions within that category. For the purposes of this inventory, the New York City metropolitan area is defined as the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester County and Long Island.

The New York Bioscience Initiative is a partnership of area research institutions, business leaders, the investment community, and the City and State of New York. The goal is to accelerate the development of a vibrant and substantive bioscience industry cluster in the New York City metropolitan region. A key priority of the Bioscience Initiative is the development of a network of affordable, state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate commercial bioscience businesses and related research activities throughout New York City and the surrounding region.
